Spiders get a new QB

New Spider head coach Danny Rocco scores a QB transfer from UVA–where his son is currently the starting quarterback!

Spider head football coach Danny Rocco (who himself is new to campus) announced on Sunday that UVA redshirt-freshman quarterback Michael Strauss will transfer and enroll at the University of Richmond effective today. Strauss is a pro-style quarterback from Miami and was, impressively, recruited by Alabama. Rivals rated him three stars and the 42nd best quarterback in the nation.

Strauss joins Cormac Craigie (SO), John Laub (SR), and Montel White (JR) in an open QB battle to fill Aaron Corp’s spot as the team’s signal caller.

Interestingly, Coach Rocco’s son, Michael Rocco, is the starting quarterback (for the forseeable future) of the Cavs.

It should be an exciting QB competition come spring football.
