Building on the inventory and analysis of initial site conditions in the project area and input from the public, the consultant team from Hargreaves Associates has begun to develop initial strategic options that address the recognized development opportunities and constraints. At this second public forum, the project team will present these options followed by a public dialogue on alternative growth scenarios, preferences and priorities for Richmond’s riverfront.

The design alternatives will present the fundamental characteristics of pursuing different growth scenarios that may include

  • status quo
  • a recreation and cultural tourism lead strategy
  • an ecology lead strategy
  • a transport, urban design and place-making lead strategy
  • a development market lead strategy

The public discourse will help guide the development of the draft plan that will be presented at a third public forum on Tuesday, December 13. See the presentation from the first forum.
