The Times-Dispatch reports that an overheated air conditioning unit triggered alarms at the Imperial Plaza retirement community early Monday morning:
Firefighters started a building-by-building search before a member of the maintenance staff told them there appeared to be an electrical problem in one of the air-conditioning units. Authorities later determined the unit had overheated.
No injuries were reported.
A large number of emergency personnel responded to the community, where a May 2006 fire that started in a fifth-floor apartment claimed the lives of two residents.
