By my count this is Mark Holmberg’s 3rd piece on the turmoil surrounding First Fridays in about a month, the 2nd in the past week. I think this time he got it right.
The Art Walk began organically after Broad Street all but died.
Empty storefronts became galleries. The art drew people. Restaurants opened. Other businesses were attracted. Broad Street came alive again.
Most importantly, it gave a lot of people faith in Richmond again. …
