Rocketts Landing is ready to light up the Richmond skyline this Labor Day with the inaugural Rocketts Red Glare. A one-of-a-kind event, Rocketts Red Glare is the only place to see fireworks in Richmond on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 5.

The family-friendly event begins at 7:30 p.m. with a performance by the Richmond Symphony Orchestra. The Orchestra will continue playing Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture during the fireworks, which are set to begin after sunset, around 9:15 p.m.

“What better way to celebrate the close of a great summer then highlighting America’s Founding River and the Richmond skyline with a fireworks display,” said Marti Cooke, director of sales and marketing at Rocketts Landing. “We’re excited to welcome Richmonders to Rocketts Landing and hope the Labor Day fireworks will create a new tradition for the city.”

Rocketts Red Glare is free for all ages and will take place along the banks of the James River at Rocketts Landing. Picnic baskets and beverages are welcome, along with chairs and blankets for seating.
