Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden has special summer hours and plenty of summer events for individuals and families. The garden is open from 9:00 until 5:00 daily with extended evening hours (until 9:00 pm) on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Among some of the summer highlights at the Garden:

  • Familes After 5: Tuesday evenings in June, July and August the Garden stays open until 9:00 pm. The Children’s Garden water play area remains open until 8:30 pm, and food is available for purchase from 5:00 until 7:00 pm.
  • Fido After 5: Partnering with the Richmond SPCA, the Garden welcomes leashed pets on the second Thursday evening of each month (June 12, July 10, August 14 and September 11) from 5:00 until 9:00 pm.
  • Flowers After 5: On Thursday evenings in July, August and September, the Garden features wine tastings and live jazz in the new Rose Garden from 5:00 until 9:00 pm.
