Bugs & Beetle Blast: Friday night at 9 p.m. at Reedy Creek James River Park headquarters. VCU professor Karen Kester and grad students lead folks in catching critters and checking them out with magnifying glasses and microscopes what’s going on with the bugs. Free!

Richmond Slave Trail – Torchlit walk: Saturday night is another torchlit trail walk of the Richmond Slave Trail. $5 at Ancarrow’s Landing at 8:30 p.m.
