On Saturday, July 9, the James River Association will hold the first annual James River Splash and Dash, a competitive trail run and tube race on Richmond’s Belle Isle.

Participants of all ages will complete a two mile trail run on Belle Isle followed by a 1/3 mile flatwater tube paddle across the James. Tubes will be provided by JRA. Prizes will be awarded for various categories. An after party at the American Civil War Center at Historic Tredegar will include food, beer, a band, and more.

New this year! A competitive tube race which will take place at Richmond’s Belle Isle.  Participants will run a 2-mile trail course, grab a tube, paddle (with their hands) across a stretch of the James, and run their tube to the finish line. Prizes will be awarded for various categories and with your registration you will receive a free event tube! 

After the race, JRA will host an after party that includes a band, food, beer and more!  This event is a fundraiser for the James River Association. Each participant creates a password that will create a secure page that can be used to encourage donations from friends and family. You can even upload a personal photo to be used. Splash and Dash Participants

There are 5 categories for the race! 20 and under; 21-30; 31-40; 41-50; 51+.  Sign in for the Splash and Dash will be from 4:00-4:45, on the grassy knoll area across from Tredegar in Richmond and the first waves of the races will be starting at 5:00, in 3 minute increments.

Each participant creates a password that will create a protected page that can be used to encourage donations from friends and family. You can even upload a personal photo to be used on your page.

    Registration for the event is $30 which includes event registration and an free event tube.
    Participants that raise $50-$99 will receive event registration, an free event tube and an event t-shirt.
    Participants raising $100 and over, will receive event registration, an free event tube, an event t-shirt, and a JRA towel.

All participants must be ages 10 and over. Anyone registering under the age of 18 must be registered by a parent or guardian.
