In the heat of the summer, if I’m going down to the James River to enjoy myself, it’s probably going to be by kayak (for a quick dip in the cool of the water) or someplace with shade. But on Memorial Day, Tredegar Beach was packed with people, and not everyone was there for the rope swing under the CSX Viaduct.

Since when? I’ve never seen so many people at this spot. Everyone seemed to be well behaved, except for the couple that climbed to the top of the CSX Viaduct.
