In his column Sunday, he spoke talks about the best spots to snag a striper (or Rockfish) in Richmond.

The fact is it’s striper season in downtown Richmond. If the occasion doesn’t rise to the level of a full blown fever, well, it should. It’s like having the best tasting, best fighting fish in the Chesapeake Bay coming to you, instead of you having to go find it.

“Stripers are getting into prime season now, at least for the bigger females,” said Chris Hull, president of the James River Outdoor Coalition and an avid striper angler. “Last year, the striper fishing was off the chart.”
