Construction of a new Far West End Road extension will cause lane closures next week as crews place steel beams across Interstate 64 for a new bridge as part of the North Gayton Road extension project. The Henrico County Department of Public Works has released a schedule of the closures that will affect motorists.
The first round of closures will affect drivers traveling eastbound on Interstate 64 overnight between mile markers 175 and 178, beginning Monday, April 25 from 9:30 p.m. until 6:30 a.m. Crews expect the work on that section of bridge should be completed by Thursday, April 28.
Signs detailing a detour along West Broad Street, as well as electronic message boards, will be posted throughout the project area.
