With all the VCU hooplah (GO RAMS!) going on this weekend/month it would be easy to miss these two interesting Spider facts:

Coach Mooney extends

The big news this week is that UR roundball coach Chris Mooney — who has become quite the talk of the town — signed a 10-year contract extension. The contract runs through the 2020 season and, unfortunately, financial terms will not be released. Bummies.

Padres start a Spider

Also, opening day for baseball is just around the corner, which brings us this Spider bite:

Former Spider standout Tim Stauffer and 4th overall pick in the 2003 draft has been named the San Diego Padre’s opening day starter. The Padres will play at St. Louis on Thursday at 4:15 p.m. Game airs on ESPN.
