Henrico County Police officers will trade in their handcuffs and badges for aprons and burgers at the Red Robin restaurant in Short Pump as part of the national Tip-A-Cop event benefitting Special Olympics. Two other Richmond locations are also participating in the charity event.

In addition to the tips, Red Robin is donating 50 cents from every gourmet burger and Coke product sold up to $50,000 all this week to Special Olympics.

Red Robin has been supporting Special Olympics programs across the country for the past six years and has helped raise more than $1.5 million for the organization.

Besides the Short Pump location, the Chesterfield Towne Center and Virginia Center Commons locations are participating in Richmond, staffed by the Chesterfield and the Hanover County’s Sheriff’s Departments, respectively.

Officers at all locations will be serving lunch and dinner Saturday, March 26, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
