Richmond A panel of sportswriters will discuss “The State of NASCAR” on Thursday [tomorrow] at 3 p.m. in the Virginia Commonwealth University Student Commons Theater, 907 Floyd Ave. The event is free and open to the public. Organized by VCU professors Jon Ackley and Michael Pitts, it will feature reporters David Caraviello (NASCAR.com), Gene Laverty (Bloomberg News), Dustin Long (Virginian-Pilot, Roanoke Times and Greensboro News & Record) and Nate Ryan (formerly of The Times-Dispatch, now of USA Today). Josh Lief, general manager of VIRginia International Raceway, will moderate.
