Richmond Ballet offering free performances during the Folk Festival

As the Richmond Ballet is housed just a hop, skip, and a jump away from the location for the Folk Festival, they’ve decided to make the most of the situation. Instead of shutting down for a few days (as they have done in previous years), the Richmond Ballet will offer a series of free — yes, free! — performances through the weekend.

Richmond Ballet Trainees and School of Richmond Ballet students present a dynamic suite of folk dances, including dances from Russian and the Ukraine.

• Saturday, October 9, 2pm
• Sunday, October 10, 2pm

Richmond Ballet Minds In Motion Team XXL | Dancing for a Brand New Bay
Team XXL, ambassadors for Richmond Ballet’s acclaimed outreach program for middle school students, Minds In Motion, dance through the history of the Chesapeake Bay and provide an important and uplifting message of environmental stewardship and conservation. Includes country music, jazz, and a “blue crab tango.”

All performances will take place at the Richmond Ballet, 407 E. Canal Street.
