A popular local networking group known for its unapologetically unstructured and somewhat laid-back approach to business networking is turning up the speed dial. The Loving Collective, the brainchild of local entrepreneur James Loving, will hold its first Breakfast Speed Networking event this Thursday in Innsbrook.

The breakfast event, which will be held at the Comfort Suites Hotel near Cox and Broad promises to intermingle bacon, biscuits and business, a winning combination according to Loving.

“It’s important to begin with the goal of the Collective, which is to help better the Richmond community by providing support to local businesses and raising awareness for local charities,” Loving said. “We believe that improving the economy starts with strengthening our local business community and in providing aid to those who need it. There will always be someone in need and those who are able to help.”

Loving notes that business networking in a social setting, such as his organization’s typical functions, can include distractions and detracts from the actual networking aspect. “Guests tend to seek out people they already know,” he said. Enter the speed networking event, the goal of which is to pair attendees who would normally not necessarily meet otherwise.

A catered breakfast will be followed by 90 minutes of rotating one-on-one networking sessions.

“By providing a forum where local business professionals and charities can network and educate others about their products, services, or cause we hope to foster connections that will benefit those who participate. Our goal is that everyone who participates makes a connection that will help them grow their business or help in someway with their cause.”

The event will begin at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 16. Tickets are available for $16 on the Loving Collective website.
