For those who have been waiting for Pizza Napoletana in Richmond, your wait is over. Stuzzi is officially opening its doors on Monday.

I was fortunate enough to be invited to the soft opening and it is was pretty darn good. The pizza is pretty different. It’s somewhere between 10”-12”. Expect the pie to have round qualities but do not expect it to a pretty circle. The crust is light and bubbly. It has a slight char from the 1200+ degree oven. The flavors are simple with the Italian tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, and extra virgin olive oil. That is the base to basically every pizza they serve. Because the crust is so light, it only takes minutes for the center of the pie to soak up all the yummy goodness.

Stuzzi does have some solid pasta dishes and other items, but I would be remiss if I didn’t tell you to go there fro the pizza. That is what is going to make or break this restaurant.

There are still a few things that remain to be seen. I ‘m not sure of the hours of operation although I have been told that they will be open 7 days a week. Other than that, I would expect business to be busy on the weekends. I would shoot to try in the middle of the week.
