George Mason and VCU have been chosen to participate in nationally televised games as part of O’Reilly ESPNU BracketBusters on Saturday, February 23. The 14 televised match-ups were announced by ESPN on Monday afternoon. Game times and the specific ESPN platform (ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN Classic or ESPN 360) will be determined and announced by ESPN next week.

The CAA will go head-to-head with the Mid-American Conference in both of its televised games. VCU (16-5, 9-2 in CAA) will travel to Akron (16-5, 6-2 in MAC), while George Mason (16-6, 8-3 in CAA) visits Ohio University (15-6, 6-2 in MAC). Akron and Ohio share the MAC East Division lead with Kent State.

“We are excited to be able to showcase two of our top teams against two of the best teams from the Mid-American Conference,” CAA Commissioner Tom Yeager said. “All four teams are battling for NCAA Tournament consideration and it’s great that these matchups will be seen by a national television audience.”

This is the fifth year that the CAA has been involved with BracketBusters and the conference has had great success in the event. CAA teams have a 7-2 record in televised contests over the past three seasons and are a perfect 4-0 in road television games.
