No one likes going to the emergency room, and no one likes waiting at the emergency room.
In an effort to help educate local residents about the “real wait times” HCA has developed a new texting option that lets you know what the current wait times are at the 3 nearest HCA hospitals.
To use the service, just text ER to 23000. You will get a message back requesting your zip code. Reply with your 5 digit zip code and you will immediately receive the wait times.
The reality is that we have underused Retreat Hospital in our backyard and the wait times are very palatable. I have tested the service twice and have received back 10 minutes and 0 minutes.
