  • ATTEMPTED ROBBERY
  • 4/13/10 • 3:15 p.m.
  • 1200 block of Brookland Parkway
  • Three females reported an unknown male tried to rob them at gunpoint.

The email I received from a reader alleged that the women had been robbed and pistol whipped. I contacted Dionne Waugh at the RPD to see if I could get some more details:

That’s not entirely accurate. The women were NOT pistol whipped. They were also NOT robbed.

One victim was struck on the side of the head, most likely with a fist.

And it was an attempted robbery. Nothing was taken.

The suspect is described as 5’8 to 1’10, weighing 180 pounds to 200 pounds, having a small frame and was last seen wearing a black t shirt, black cargo pants or cargo shorts, a black doo-rag, and white tennis shoes.

The police are hoping to release more information later today.
