The Brookland Park Business Association decided to do a food drive this year to try to feed some families this Thanksgiving. We put boxes for food donations in 15 businesses here in the Brookland Park business area,” stated Willie Hilliard of Trent’s Barber Shop, located at 19 West Brookland Park Boulevard. Hilliard, who has coordinated this project for several years continues, “In addition to people in the area responding to our can good drive, we also received a donation of 75 turkeys. So today we are preparing to feed families here in the Brookland Park/ North Side areas. We decided this year to work with the area schools to assist us in identifying families who are in need of temporary assistance.
