NPR ran a great profile on Brooklyn music promoter Todd P (real name: Todd Patrick) yesterday. Todd P has been organizing underground indie-rock shows in church basements, parking lots, and other “unauthorized” spaces (sound familiar) for the last nine years, and has gained a reputation for being a “tastemaker” when it comes to new music. So much so that larger venues consciously monitor who he’s booking and then follow suit.
