Union Bank & Trust, based in Bowling Green, Virginia, recently closed the doors of its Pouncey Tract Road location. A sign on the door informs customers that “all business should be transferred to Union Bank & Trust Twin Hickory.” No reason was given for the closure of the branch, which is adjacent to the FasMart across from Short Pump Middle School.

Interior repairs and/or renovations to the facility are underway, but it was not clear whether or not the location would reopen. Union Bank & Trust recently merged with First Market Bank (formerly owned by the Ukrop family) to become Union First Market Bankshares. There’s no word on whether the branch closure was a direct result of restructuring following the merger.
