Walking Trail Named After Dedicated Citizen

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – The Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation Department has announced it will name an Ettrick Park walking trail after county resident Evelyn S. Tucker. The Evelyn S. Tucker Walking Trail will be dedicated during a ceremony Saturday, June 27, at noon. Tucker initiated efforts for the trail’s development. She lives in the Ettrick community and recognized that many roads in the area are narrow and unsafe for recreational walkers. Ettrick Park is the first of Chesterfield County’s four community parks to have a measured, hard-surface walking trail. In addition to providing walking opportunities, the one-mile trail route connects all recreational facilities in the park. The dedication ceremony will be held in conjunction with the park’s Annual Neighborhood Bash. There will be carnival games, music, prizes and refreshments. Admission is free. Ettrick Park is located at 20400 Laurel Road, Ettrick.
