Longtime Fan District resident Chris Gibson, wife of Tom Applegate, died on Dec. 9, 2007.
In the 1970s Chris came from Newark to Richmond to go to VCU, then fronted the legendary punk band BEEX. The first time I saw her perform was in the summer of 1977 for the Fan District Softball League’s picnic at Tony Martin’s farm. That was the year her band BEEX was formed.
