Maynor averaged 20.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 3.0 steals in leading VCU to a pair of victories last week. The junior point guard scored 15 points and had season-highs of nine assists and four steals in a 71-57 win over CAA foe William & Mary and followed with a team-best 25 points and five rebounds in a 65-45 triumph over rival Richmond. Maynor, who has topped the 20-point mark in three of his last four games, shot 55.2% from the floor for the week.

VCU (6-3 overall, 1-0 in CAA)

The Rams rolled past city rival Richmond 65-45 on Saturday after opening CAA play with a 71-57 triumph over William & Mary. VCU improved to 4-0 at home this season and is 100-19 overall since the Siegel Center opened in 1999. Junior guard Eric Maynor, who has tallied double digits in seven straight games, poured in a team-high 25 points against UR and contributed 15 points, nine assists and four steals versus W&M. With 339 career assists, Maynor needs just seven more to move into 9th place on the Rams’ career assists list. Senior guard Jamal Shuler had a team-best 21 points in the W&M win and added 16 against UR. Shuler has scored double figures in eight of nine contests. VCU shot 50.9% from the floor against the Tribe and only committed eight turnovers. Freshman forward Larry Sanders averaged 6.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks in the two games last week.
