The Neighborhood Resource Center kicks off the 2009 edition of Run to the River with its first scheduled 10K/5K training day on Saturday May 23.  These walks/runs will be conducted throughout the summer leading up to race day on October 17.  Training days are set up as an opportunity to discover the beauty and variety of the routes, enjoy healthy exercise and build community, and to see firsthand the NRC facility and the good work it conducts.

We’ll meet at the NRC at 1519 Williamsburg Road at 7:45 AM and head out at 8:00 AM.  The event will run rain or shine.  Once back at the Center we will have coffee, juice, and Country Style donuts.  Before leaving we’ll check the progress of the NRC garden.

If you have questions call the Center at 864-5797 or email zeb@runtotheriver.org.  No need to reserve a spot-just show up!run-to-the-river-jpg
