Single-vehicle Crash Resulted From A Medical Condition
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – The Chesterfield County Police Department is investigating a single-vehicle crash that was the result of a possible heart-related medical event that resulted in the driver losing consciousness. Police said shortly after 4 p.m. today, the 58-year-old male driver of a late-model Chevrolet SUV was traveling East on Old Buckingham Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle, ran off the right side of the road at the corner of Huguenot Road and overturned. When police and EMS personnel arrived the driver was unconscious. He was transported to CJW Medical Center’s Chippenham campus where he was listed in critical condition. The driver’s wife, the passenger in the vehicle, was also transported to Chippenham in critical condition. Police continue their investigation into this crash.
