Even though they already jacked up rates 18% last summer, Dominion Virginia Power filed a request with the State Corporation Committee today to bump things up another 6.9%.
The change is expected to phased in over 14 months and will increase the average user’s bill by about $7.50.
Dominion’s website states that these increases will help fund “essential new electric infrastructure and energy conservation programs” that will, in turn, create 20,000 jobs over the next three years.
