South of James Neighborhood Watch Facebook group started up to combat crime

Communication is key.

As most of you are aware there are several neighborhood association Facebook pages and at time information doesn’t go from one group to the other. The criminals on the other hand have no problem roaming between the various neighborhoods.

You can join SOJ Neighborhood Watch here. Located on that page you can find the story of a reunited dog that was improperly claimed from CraigsList and the most recent overnight thefts.

Crime alert: my car was broken into a little over an hour ago on Brookside Road near crossroads coffee. They broke the car window which set off the alarm. They stole my purse, my wallet, my phone, and my work phone. It seems that they were stealing multiple items in the neighborhood and putting them in a sack on their bicycle. They left their bicycle though after we chased them out of the neighborhood. Among the items in the sack: CDs, a pair of sunglasses, and an employment workbook. This fella wasn’t too bright and left this identifying information. If anyone is to see a black wallet around the neighborhood, please bring it to the police. With the help of find my iPhone, my fiance was able to locate my phone which was inside my purse tossed in Forest Hill Park. I would like to ask Larry Brown to pay my deductible. So if you see him to let me know too.

Not the only incidents last night.

Had a truck break in last night in 5100 block of Caledonia Rd. around 12:30 am. Called 911 as I was watching him break out my sliding rear window. Police missed him by about three minutes.

And this as well.

Police called. High powered guns fired sounding like Aston Square.
