Burgers, ‘adult milkshakes’ coming to former Boulevard fast food joint

Boulevard Burger & Brew will take over the long-shuttered Kelly’s restaurant, which was a fast food establishment in the 1950s and ’60s.

From Richmond.com:

Chris Tsui, owner of EAT Restaurant partners, finally has a concept for his new restaurant in the works at 1300 N. Boulevard.

Burgers and brews – and adult (and kid-friendly) milkshakes.

Boulevard Burger & Brew is the name of the spot going in about a block from Fat Dragon and across from Bow Tie’s Movieland at Boulevard Square. Tsui signed the lease in July.
The building originally housed Kelly’s Jet System Hamburger, a burger chain of that era, and Tsui said he the building’s history helped inspire the concept.

Renovation work is well underway; the restaurant is slated to open in January.
