New office space coming to former Scott’s Addition freight warehouse

The former East Coast Freight Lines building should be ready for tenants to move in by June.

A historic building is getting a face-lift and making room for companies to settle into an increasingly popular neighborhood.

The local architecture firm Thomas Hamilton & Associates is tackling a new project in Scott’s Addition to renovate a historic former warehouse space into office suites.

The firm closed on the property at 3005 W. Marshall St. in June of last year for $850,000 and began construction earlier this year. The building should be completed by the middle of this June.

The warehouse, formerly owned by East Coast Freight Lines, can be subdivided for multiple tenants or anchored by one major business, according to developers.

Scott’s Addition, which is often likened to the light industrial feel of Manchester, doesn’t have a large inventory office space like its South Richmond counterpart does–or at least is steadily adding. This project will add to the mix of property uses in the neighborhood as well.
