VCU purchases property currently home to a closed gas station

You will be assimilated by the VCU property collective, now take your ram horns and move along.

From RTD:

Trey Morgan, president of Morgan Property Group, based in Charlotte, N.C., said he does not know what plans VCU has for the property.

But in a statement released Wednesday by his company, Morgan said the deal was reached after “several months of discussions with VCU about Monroe Park Campus’ future development and the importance of this corner for both VCU as a campus gateway and as the entrée into the city’s arts and culture district.”

The property in question is located at 535 W. Broad Street and sold for $3.15 million on March 2nd. The property is currently fenced off and is home to a closed Hess gas station. The former property owners had filed plans to build a Walgreen’s Drugstore but instead sold the property this week.
