The goats are comin’! The goats are comin’!

Chimborazo welcomes a few new (short-term) residents.

Not as catchy as Paul Revere I’ll admit, but you should listen up all the same!

Starting Memorial Day weekend and lasting though a portion of the following week, Chimborazo Park will be home to a short-term goatscaping project.

Goatscaping? Yes, goatscaping.

From the press release:

Enrichmond is thrilled to announce the arrival of Goat Busters to Chimborazo Park! 40+ goats will be ‘working’ their way through our urban orchard site in Chimborazo Park.  Jace Goodling from Goat Busters anticipates the process taking 4 to 5 days.

Goat Busters is a Virginia based business which started in 2008.

After helping to create an “urban orchard” in Chimborazo and then launching a successful Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for the goatscaping project last year, Enrichmond is finally putting hooves on the ground.

Enrichmond is joining forces with the Martin Agency, Friends of Chimborazo Park, Blue Bee Cider, the Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities, the Department of Public Works, and the City of Richmond to complete this project.

Make sure to stop by and watch the goats in action!
