New restaurants in March

Four new restaurants opened March.

Omega Grecian Restaurant

March 11th

Omega, the newest addition to Northside’s tiny strip of retail on MacArthur Avenue, brings Greek food to the area. I’m incredibly excited about having the option to walk to a dinner comprised entirely of fried calamari. You can see the full menu here, they do, in fact, serve more than fried calamari.

Pelon’s Baja Grill

March 19th

Somehow Pelon’s Baja Grill snuck into one of Richmond’s more obscure neighborhoods1 totally under my radar. They’re a “cali-style” mexican place with a couple of locations in the 757; their new location on Dabney Road is the first in RVA. Get this: they open for breakfast Monday through Saturday at 7:00 AM. BREAKFAST TACOS!

Mission BBQ

March 24th

First verifiable fact: People love barbecue. Second verifiable fact: a new BBQ joint has opened down the street from the West End Buz and Ned’s location. Mission BBQ is a smallish chain with a couple of Maryland locations, and this, like Pelon’s above, is their first foray into the Richmond market.

Foo Dog

March 31st

From the group that brought you Fat Dragon comes…Foo Dog!2 Only adjectives that start with the letter F followed by an animal that starts with the letter D from those folks. Up next: Fantastic Dolphin. Annnyway, Foo Dog has ramen, which is something in Apwe’re all incredibly excited about.

  1. What do you call that area over by Strangeways
  2. Which I will forever mistype as Food og
