Fuel truck rolled into creek, minor fuel leak occurred

Officials state that most of the spill was contained by a dam built by RFD and Haz-Mat crews.

CBS6 has the information of an unfortunate meeting between a fuel truck and a creek. At this time no details on how much environmental damage was caused. The James River is just out of frame in the Google Map snapshot above.

A fuel delivery truck rolled out of a South Richmond driveway and into a creek Thursday morning near Hickory and Cherokee Roads.

Richmond Fire and Haz-Mat crews built a dam to help contain a minor fuel leak, according to the Richmond Fire Department.

Most of the spill was contained, Richmond Fire Department spokesman Robbie Hagaman said.

The fuel truck rolled out of the driveway after it suffered a brake failure, he said.
