Filmmaker/educator David Ellsworth will judge and award about $2000 in cash prizes offered by James River Film Society, followed by comments and Q&A with other participating filmmakers.

The James River Film Society and its April Festival have brought major figures of innovative moving images to Richmond for 18 years, including Stan Brakhage, the Brothers Quay, Ray Harryhausen, Karen Aqua, Charles Burnett, Scott MacDonald, Martha Colburn, William Wegman, Ken Jacobs, Albert Maysles, and Peggy Awesh. The James River Film Society is a volunteer-run, nonprofit dedicated to the art of film and film as art.
