A fun Scrabble tournament to benefit James River Writers literary programs

Saturday, February 7, 2009
1:00– 5:00pm

Aurora Café & Lounge

Richmond, VA

$15.00 advance registration: JamesRiverWriters.com
$20.00 at the door
Spectators only: $3 at the door

All registrants are guaranteed to play three 45-minute matches. Aggregate score for the three games determines your ranking. Top scoring reader will face-off against the top-scoring writer in a Championship match played on the new Scrabble Diamond Anniversary Edition board. The final game will be projected onto the wall for all to observe.

12 noon-1:00 Sign-in. Lunch.
1:00-1:15 Opening remarks & tournament rules
1:15-2:00 Round 1
2:00-2:15 Break
2:15-3:00 Round 2
3:00-3:15 Break
3:15-4:00 Round 3
4:00-4:15 Break
4:15-5:00 Championship

Grand Prize: Winner’s choice of the new Scrabble Diamond Anniversary Board, or the Deluxe Wooden Version. Additional prizes will be awarded for longest word and coolest word. Prizes include tickets to JRW programs and the Richmond Symphony Masterworks Series, author-signed books, and Aurora gift certificates.
