Flying Squirrels looking for ‘FUNN’ staff members for 2012 season

Richmond’s minor league baseball team will host two job fairs to help fill available positions for the 2012 season. Both job fairs are this week, so if you’re interested in working at the Diamond this summer you’ll want to act fast

While trotting around the bases at the Diamond after hitting a game-winning home run in the bottom of the ninth may be a bit out of your league, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy being at the ballpark—and getting paid to be there.

The Flying Squirrels are looking to fill in their FUNN staff roster for the upcoming season. “Our FUNN Staff is crucial to the overall fan experience at The Diamond,” said Flying Squirrels Vice President and COO Todd “Parney” Parnell in a statement on the Flying Squirrels website. “These employees play an integral role in providing our fans with outstanding service and hospitality throughout the season.”

The available positions include:

  • Ushers
  • Ticket takers
  • ‘Clean Team’ members
  • Concessions personnel
  • Cooks
  • Grounds operators

Anyone who is interested in working with the Flying Squirrels at the Diamond this spring and summer are encouraged to attend the club’s annual job fair today(!), February 29th from 5:30–8pm on the main concourse of the Diamond. If you can’t make it today, don’t worry. There will be a second job fair held on Saturday, March 3rd from 9am – noon.

Resumes will be accepted, but are not mandatory. Job fair attendees will fill out an application when they apply (you can get a jump start on that by printing one out here). Flying Squirrels front office members will conduct on-site interviews for all available positions.

Good luck!
