Vote for name of new GRTC bus rapid transit line

City’s first BRT line needs a name before it opens in 2017.

GRTC expects to open the city’s first bus rapid transit (BRT) line stretching 7.6 miles from Rocketts Landing to Willow Lawn in October 2017. The 14 stations along the line will mean fewer stops than traditional bus routes, making the service faster than existing GRTC bus lines.

Regional partners and GRTC have selected five possible names for the BRT line and are asking the public to vote for the winner:

  • RVA CONNEX
  • THE PULSE
  • THE CURRENT
  • THE RAPID
  • BLYNX

The online survey runs December 15, 2014 through January 1, 2015. GRTC will unveil the name of the BRT line, its logo, and vehicle designs in Spring 2015.

  1. What is it with this city and its inability to name things? All those names are horrible. Thankfully there is an option to submit a name of your own on the survey! :P
