Vice President Biden and other national leaders visit VCU today

As part of his effort to investigate ways to deter gun violence in the county, Vice President Biden will head a discussion today on the campus of VCU.

Today, Vice President Joe Biden will join other leaders for a roundtable discussion at VCU to discuss ways to limit gun violence across the country.

Biden, who was tasked by President Obama to recommend ways to deter gun-related violence after 26 people died last month at a Connecticut school shooting, will be joined by: Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius, Deputy U.S. Attorney General Jim Cole, Sen. Timothy M. Kaine (D-VA), and Rep. Robert C. “Bobby” Scott (D-3rd) for a discussion expected to begin at 11:00 AM.

The discussion will take place at the VCU Student Commons, and will include gun-safety experts. The event is not open to the public.
