The 90s join Classic Rock 96.5 as it becomes Rock 96.5

After announcing plans to sell four of its local radio stations, Cox Media has re-branded its classic rock station and added a several new artists to its playlist.

Classic Rock 96.5 WKLR Richmond has re-branded itself Rock 96.5. The FM station will also add a crop of 1990s artists to their existing catalog that begins with the 1960s. The station lists Aerosmith, Pearl Jam, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Stone Temple Pilots, Guns N’ Roses, and AC/DC as their new core artists.

In July, Cox Media announced they were selling their four Richmond-based radio stations, one of which was 96.5.
