RVA Clean Sweep looking to spruce up RVA

Litter and trash is an ongoing problem but they’re looking to clean up.

RVA Clean Sweep is a new citizen group focused on making our city a better looking place through citizen run trash cleanups throughout the area. Already the group has held six cleanups and removed over 100 bags of trash. RVA Clean Sweep is excited to promote not only their own cleanups but those cleanups from small and large organizations on their meetup page. We look forward to working hard with citizens, businesses, local and regional non-profits, city & state government to beautify the city we love!

Do you have a suggestion for cleanup site? These suggestions can range from parks to streams to neighborhood alleys. Let them know on Facebook  or email at rvacleansweep@gmail.com.

RVA Clean Sweep’s next cleanup is scheduled for Sunday, August 3rd at the Great Shiplock Park starting at 10am! For more details and to sign up, check them out on Meetup.

Someone I know moved here from Colorado. She and her husband said that Richmond was dirty and litter-ridden. They left to go back where the streets were cleaner-back to CO. I started noticing after that discussion.
