Police pursuit on Friday night ends in crash on Stonewall
Friday night excitement of the wrong sort.
A loyal reader submitted the picture and had this to say about the incident that took place early Friday evening.
This happened on Stonewall Ave., the major thoroughfare thru the hood, during the food truck court at woodland heights baptist church, 2 blocks away, so there was alot of pedestrian traffic. We’re very lucky no one was hurt besides the driver.
CBS6 has more details including the presence of a firearm.
According to police, around 8p.m. Friday evening, officers tried to pull over a man on W. 27th Street in the city’s southside.
The driver sped away and officers began the chase.
Officers say the driver threw a gun out of the window.
The chase ended when the driver crashed into a power pole a few blocks away on 29th street and tried to run away from police but he was captured and arrested.

That is a bad intersection at all times. People rarely stop for the stop sign and people speed down Stonewall Ave. from 3oth st. This needs to be a four way stop because of walkers and children. I live near that corner and she it everyday.
Very glad to know that no one was hurt.
just stay off of springhill :)
