The Atlantic highlights local activist trolling Confederate flag group with rap music

Goad Gatsby has been blasting Kanye from his tricycle in a counter protest of the Virginia Flaggers group that gathers outside the museum every Saturday.

From The Atlantic:

Every Saturday, Goad Gatsby hops on his tricycle and heads to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond. There, he blasts rap music as a form of protest against the Virginia Flaggers—who, in turn, show up at the museum every weekend to protest the removal of the Confederate flag from the museum’s grounds. This micro-battle has been waging for three years; Gatsby plays his Kanye West tunes while the Flaggers assert their right to fly the flag high. “I see it as a symbol of white power and white supremacy,” he says in this documentary by the filmmakers Logan Jaffe and Zachary Sigelko. This film is part of a larger storytelling project called Battle Flag, exploring what the Confederate flag means to people across the country.

I love everything about this. What a strange, wonderful city we live in.

Im not on either side of this argument. But, Kanye west is ever bit as much a racist as any of those people carry flags. Hold a sign without the music.

  3. Uggggh Kanye? He’s trolling the white people with white people music. Nothing’s funnier than when white hipsters think they speak for the oppressed
