    What was your biggest achievement? Paying my car off. Seriously.

    What was your biggest failure? I had to have my gallbladder taken out in February so I guess I failed at taking care of it.

    What was the best book you read? East of the Sun by Julia Gregson

    What was your best purchase? My vacuum cleaner. I love that damn thing. I hate, hate, hate to vacuum but with my new machine, I don’t mind so much.

    What song will always remind you of 2009? Sex on Fire by Kings of Leon

    What was your favorite movie of 2009? It’s a tie between The Hangover and Zombieland.

    What was your favorite TV show? How I Met Your Mother. Let me explain. I never really watched it before. An episode here or there, never really got into it. And then I did and it happened in 2009 and so that’s my answer.

    Who impressed you the most? This one is a tie between my boyfriend, who stepped up and had the guts to say something I might not have been able to, and me, because I went way, way out of my comfort zone this past year.

    Who pissed you off the most? Again with the me answer. ‘Tis true, though. Before I impressed myself, I pissed myself off because I wasn’t giving something a try.

    Choose one word to describe 2009. Unplanned.

    What do you hope to do more of this year? Expand my comfort zone more. Also, knitting.

    What do you hope to do less of? Worry about the what ifs.

    Who do you think will be the most talked-about person of 2010? Tiger Woods.

    Who/what is going to make a comeback this year? Money. You heard it here first.

    Who do you want to just go away? Tiger Woods and H1N1.

    What do you think will be the hottest conversation topic nationally? Money and War and Who To Blame It All On.

    What do you think will be the hottest conversation topic locally? Lack of money to get things done in the city. Flying squirrels. The weather.

    What do you hope will happen this year? All the things I want to happen. But let’s not jinx it by talking about it. Ok? Ok.

    What do you hope won’t happen this year? I hope I don’t gain back *all* of the weight I lost last year.

    I also kind of turned this whole thing into a blog post because I already wrote this and so it just seemed easy to copy and paste. And yes, I’m lazy.

    What was your biggest achievement? Somehow talking my boss into hiring me for what’s turned out to be the best job ever.

    What was your biggest failure? It involved a failed attempt at romance. Don’t they all?

    What was the best book you read? World War Z. Although that might have been at the end of 2008. So…um…uh…The Unbearable Lightness of Being.

    What was your best purchase? My tattoo.

    What song will always remind you of 2009? 2009 was the year I fell in love with the Carbon Leaf album “Indian Summer,” specifically the song “Paloma.”

    What was your favorite movie of 2009? Vickie Christina Barcelona. One of the few movies I’ve ever seen that I wanted to start again as soon as I finished it.

    What was your favorite TV show? I watched every episode of Six Feet Under last year, having never seen it even once before. And after the finale was over I cried for longer than I care to admit.

    Who impressed you the most? My oldest sister, who has always been my hero.

    Who pissed you off the most? Someone I used to work with who went out of her way to treat me badly, even after she got promoted out of our department, even after I got laid off.

    Choose one word to describe 2009. Reorganization.

    What do you hope to do less of? Get dragged into depression spirals because I’m broke.

    Who do you think will be the most talked-about person of 2010? Locally? The Ukrop’s family. Nationally? Obama.

    Who/what is going to make a comeback this year? Minor-league baseball in Richmond.

    Who do you want to just go away? Club Velvet. Giant SUVs. Glenn Beck. Birthers. The TSA.

    What do you think will be the hottest conversation topic nationally? Health insurance reform.

    What do you think will be the hottest conversation topic locally? The Flying Squirrels.

    What do you hope will happen this year? Getting tickets to see Wicked. Or Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me coming to Richmond.

    What do you hope won’t happen this year? War in Israel.

    I’m pretty proud of RVANews.

    My lack of exercising

    The Help by Kathryn Stockett

    ROOMBA (except someone bought it for us)

    Anything by Lady Gaga

    2012. Jk. Kind of.

    Gilmore girls. Yes, I know it was over by then, but I spent the last half of the year watching all of them and I loved it so.

    Who impressed you the most?
    I’m generally impressed by most things Lauren Eubank (our sales person) does.

    Who pissed you off the most?
    Balloon boy’s parents.

    Being more “in the moment” when I spend time with my kid.

    Worrying

    Obama

    Right or wrong, I’ve got high hopes for Britney in 2010.

    Jon Gosselin

    Health care

    The the Ukrop’s replacement will still hand out rainbow cookies.

    That Jon Gosselin will still be here. I mean, I don’t want him to die, but you know what I mean.

    What was your biggest achievement? Facilitating the huge strides in web, social media, branding and design for my company!
    What was your biggest failure? Neglecting personal projects and personal time.
    What was the best book you read? I didn’t get much reading done this year but I rather enjoyed Howl (and a collection of others) by Allen Ginsburg
    What was your best purchase? My beautiful LaDiff sofa!
    What song will always remind you of 2009? Howl, by FLorence & the Machine. Hmm, a trend perhaps?
    What was your favorite movie of 2009? Zombieland, easily. Coraline was pretty great too. We had a pretty decent year in cinema.
    What was your favorite TV show? Dexter- easily. I started and finished every episode available on the interwebs… it’s addictive AND lovable!
    Who impressed you the most? A good friend of mine, Patrick, for his ability to always be honest, open, thoughtful and well informed.
    Who pissed you off the most? Our politicians!

    What do you hope to do more of this year? Organize, think, focus, and create.
    What do you hope to do less of? Hope to do much less whining.
    Who do you think will be the most talked-about person of 2010? Quite possibly the next over-inflated celebrity who dies. Or Obama.
    Who/what is going to make a comeback this year? Hopefully the economy (and our roads in RVA!)
    Who do you want to just go away? Sarah Palin.
    What do you think will be the hottest conversation topic nationally? Health care reform, probably…
    What do you think will be the hottest conversation topic locally? Local business and the Think.Shop.Buy.Local campaign (I hope)
    What do you hope will happen this year? Peace on earth, but more realistically, losing those 20 lbs I’ve gained since moving to Richmond (thanks to all that delicious Southern cooking)
    What do you hope won’t happen this year? Another war, another attack, another gift to the insurance companies, another scandal, more constitutional intolerance…

    What was your biggest failure? Failing to lose all of my baby weight.

    What was the best book you read? Didn’t read too many…I guess I’ll say “Eat Pray Love.”

    What was your best purchase? Dyson Animal vacuum..that thing rocks!

    What song will always remind you of 2009? “Beautiful Boy” by John Lennon because I sing it to my infant son all the time.

    What was your favorite movie of 2009? (500) Days of Summer

    What was your favorite TV show? My husband watched “24” thanks to Netflix all year so I’ll say that.

    Who impressed you the most? My daughter for being such a great big sister and adjusting well to the new baby.

    Who pissed you off the most? The assholes shooting off guns into the air on New Years Eve…wait, I guess technically that’s 2010. Dnn’t they know that what goes up, must come down?
