Current TV (started by the inventor of the Internet, no less) has recently posted a video on our fair city. It has all you could want: GWAR, moped gangs, and, of course, Dirt Woman.

It’s a pretty interesting watch - even if they do refer to Robert E. Lee as BOBBY LEE. Something in me ached when I saw that, I’m not gonna lie.

Anyway, take a look. I’m sure you will have lots to say:

Did you know that Richmond was the capital of the confederacy? I SURE DIDNT.

    Wow, this was something… special.
Good ol’ racist Richmond. They took a tour of almost all the confederate monuments while somehow neglecting the monument to Arthur Ashe, or the statue of Bill Robinson, or mentioning any of Maggie Walker’s accomplishments, or the fact that we are one of 12 cities in the US to have a Federal Reserve Bank, or that we have nine Fortune 500 companies headquartered here, or our several colleges and universities. Nope, every tour of Richmond should focus on its love for oppressing minorities.

The Skull-A-Day guy was pretty cool.

Well this is what you get when you let someone who hates the City offer a tour it. People see what they want to see and obviously the GWAR dude sees the darker side of the city, past and present. Interesting video nonetheless!

Got something to say?
