So long, RVA!
There’s some outstanding weather in store for the Grand Illumination tonight and the Christmas Parade tomorrow. Mild temperatures are in store for most of the week ahead. 70 degrees in the first week of December sounds lovely to me! But there’s a price to pay, even with good weather – I’ve got a look at the latest drought statistics.
Gorgeous weather for one of the busiest travel days of the year is certainly a good thing, and it’s going to stick around through Thanksgiving Day. More cold air is on the way for this weekend, unfortunately. Heading to Blacksburg on Saturday? Grab a few extra layers- you’re going to need them.
While clouds and a chance of some rain showers may make things a little unpleasant for the first part of next week, we’re looking at some great weather by the time Thanksgiving Day rolls around.

Despite the “unstable” outlook for the first part of the week, we don’t need to write off any of the upcoming weekend. Unfortunately, the threat of another nor’easter looms for later in the week. And I even slipped in a sneak peek at the forecast for next weekend’s Anthem Richmond Marathon.
Sandy is no longer a hurricane, but the damage across the Mid-Atlantic and New England has been done. While Richmond was spared from the worst, we still had local impacts from the system.

There’s only one kind of weather on tap for this year’s Folk Festival, and it’s grade “A” for “awesome.” Showers and thunderstorms on Monday threaten what what would be a 7-day streak of some gorgeous early fall weather.
