Movieland celebrates 60th anniversary of Oklahoma!

The 1955 film adaptation of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic returns to many Bow Tie Cinemas this weekend—including ours!

The next few days are set up to be pretty…interesting for us parents. In addition to the candy hangovers you and yours will be nursing, Daylight Saving Time ends Sunday morning, as well. So basically you’ll all be grumpy and tired with no clue what’s going on.

You know what cures all that? This:

And this:

And especially this:

Thanks to the lovely folks at Bow Tie Cinemas, you have the chance to introduce your family to the fantastic experience that is the film adaptation of Rodger and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma!1 on the big screen–widescreen and remastered, no less! On Sunday, November 1st and Wednesday, November 4th, Bow Tie Cinemas across the country will host three screenings of this beloved musical, and our very own Movieland is getting in on the deal. Show times are 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM on Sunday and 7:00 PM on Wednesday. Tickets are $15 and include the chance to feast your ears on an additional newly-recorded performance from Tony and Emmy Award-winner Kristin Chenoweth, who will belt out her favorite songs from the musical.

(Musical theater nerds everywhere just swooned and fell over.)
