Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa Collecting Pillows For Local Needy
The Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa is partnering with CARITAS for a pillow drive to help those in need in our area. The organization, that helps individuals and families transitioning from homelessness to self-sufficiency, is collecting pillows today until New Year’s Day at the hotel.
The Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa is partnering with CARITAS for a pillow drive to help those in need in our area. The organization, that helps individuals and families transitioning from homelessness to self-sufficiency, is collecting pillows today until New Year’s Day at the hotel.
Anyone wishing to donate to the drive can drop off a new pillow at the Hilton, in Towne Center West near Short Pump Town Center, from 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. daily.
The public is also invited to the Hilton at 11:00 a.m. on New Year’s Day as the hotel hosts a ceremony to present CARITAS with the pillows collected in the drive. A representative of CARITAS will be present to receive the pillows and share heartwarming stories of new beginnings of families helped. Complimentary beverages will be served.
“Our goal is to collect 5000 pillows and we need your help to do it.” said Lori Darling, vice president of sales and marketing of Shamin Hotels, the parent company of the Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa.
The pillow drive is further supported by Neil Amin, CEO of Shamin Hotels & treasurer of the Better Housing Collation.
“Most of us take a warm bed for granted each night. That isn’t the case for some families in Richmond. With the weather turning colder, everyone deserves a warm bed and a comfortable pillow,” Amin said.
The crescendo of the pillow drive will commence on New Year’s Eve. All guests attending the New Year’s Eve Celebration at the Hilton are encouraged to bring pillows to donate. Party goers donating pillows that evening will receive a $25 gift certificate per couple towards a future dinner for two or more in Shula’s America’s Steak House or a $5 discount per couple on New Year’s Day Brunch.
